Have you seen the trend in unconventional flower girls at weddings? I love an unconventional twist on an old wedding tradition! Whatever it may be, doing something that makes your wedding more about you or your family will result in guests talking about your event for years to come.
The tradition of flower girls dates back to the Roman Empire. Flower girls of that time were virgins who carried a sheave of wheat that was supposed to bring prosperity to the bride and groom. Flower girls of today are more likely to be small children tossing petals as they walk down the aisle, but what if neither side of the family has adorable little girls to be part of your big day?
Bring on the flower grandmas!! These ladies look like they are having a great time. And, I bet that every single person at that wedding smiled when they walked out. I also appreciate the bride who thought to honor older women in the family. We can all guess who’s being willed the family jewels!
